550 bhp Bentley Mulsanne Performance Model At Paris Motor Show

The range-topping model of Bentley’s lineup, the Bentley Mulsanne will be seen in an interesting avatar at the Paris Motor Show which is scheduled to begin from October 4, 2014.

The news is that Bentley is going to unveil a performance variant of the Bentley Mulsanne super saloon at the Paris Motor Show. Bentley had two reasons to come up with a performance-oriented Mulsanne - to celebrate the success its GT3 racecar achieved in the Blancpain GT series and the overwhelming attention the Continental GT3-R received at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

So what shall we expect from this up-tuned version of Mulsanne? Expectedly, the performance version will be powered by the same 6.75 litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that powers the standard Mulsanne but the power will be boosted from current 505 bhp (337 kW) to nearly 550 bhp (410 kW). This would bring the current 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 5.3 seconds well below 5.0 seconds which is astonishing for a car of this size.

The standard model weighs 2,585 kilogrammes but the performance spec version is likely to weigh substantially less. Since the Continental GT3-R lost nearly 100 kilogrammes, we can expect at least 40 to 50 kilogrammes of reduction in the more potent version.  Moreover, the new version would also feature a tweaked chassis for better dynamics.

Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo Unveiled At Goodwood

Aston Martin has finally unveiled the much anticipated DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo concept supercar at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. DP stands for Design Prototype and this virtual supercar will first be seen in the PlayStation exclusive racing game Gran Turismo 6. For the time being, this vehicle will only be seen in the game but it is very likely to take the shape of an actual prototype in the near future.

It took nearly six months for the design team, which was led by Design Director Marek Reichman, to create this special car for Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary. The DP-100 is not just an aesthetically pleasing product but is a potent machine as well, at least on paper. The DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo is a mid-engined racer packing a twin turbocharged 6.0 litre V12 unit that produces up to 800 bhp.

This car will be available to GT6 owners for download in July 2014 along with 19 other highly visionary design concepts from makers like Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and others. Of the 20 vehicles the ones that have been confirmed are the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo and the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo.

Going by what design director Marek Reichman claims, and this is interesting, the DP-100 is likely to influence the design of future Aston Martin models. This means we could see even more stunning road-going Astons in the years to come.

Indian Motorcycles To Unveil 2015 Model Lineup In Sturgis

America’s first motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle, enjoyed much of the attention at last year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally where it announced its rebirth under Polaris Industries which acquired the former back in 2011. With this important announcement, Indian Motorcycle also unveiled its 2014 model lineup which was powered by the Thunderstroke 111 V-Twin.

The next big news coming from Indian Motorcycle, and it was expected, is that it will debut its 2015 model range at the 2014 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. At last year’s rally event, Indian brought three models: Chief, Chief Vintage and Chieftain. Now, at this year’s Sturgis Rally all we should expect is a handful of design updates to the existing model lineup but Polaris could have a couple of surprises for Indian fans.

The 2015 MY lineup will be up on display on 3rd & Lazelle St. in Downtown Sturgis from August 2 to 9. Indian Motorcycle will also hold a contest for visitors wherein they can win a new 2015 model.

The attendees will also get the opportunity to ride the 2015 lineup at the Indian Motorcycle Demo Experience on I-90 at Exit 30. On August 3, Sunday, Indian Motorcycle will also host a party at Buffalo Chip, which is said to be the largest music festival in motorcycling. Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will also be performing live at the party. For more information regarding the event, you can head to the official website of Indian Motorcycle.

Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7: Fastest And Most Powerful Jag Yet

Jaguar’s F-TYPE has catapulted the brand’s global presence to a whole new level and it is now Jaguar’s responsibility to keep the fans interested. Even though it could prove to be a tough job to maintain that fan following, Jaguar has taken a head start with the announcement of the F-TYPE Project 7. Yes, it is the same concept sports car unveiled last year which now has been confirmed to hit the production line.

Developed by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations team, the F-TYPE Project 7 will be the fastest and most powerful Jaguar yet. The British marque plans to produce only 250 units of this new model. The official debut of the F-TYPE Project 7 will take place on June 26 at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Power to the 1585 kg Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 comes from a 5.0 supercharged V8 unit that produces 575 PS of max power and peak torque of 680 Nm. Such enormous output figures ensure that the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 300 km/h (electronically-limited).

All that power and torque is fed to the rear wheels via Jaguar’s 8-speed Quickshift auto transmission and Electronic Active Differential. The list of standard features is comprised of an array of performance-oriented features including Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes, Torque Vectoring by Braking, bespoke carbon-fibre aerodynamic elements and more.

Each of the 250 F-TYPE Project 7 models will sport a numbered plaque signed by Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar. Available colour will have five metallic options: British Racing Green, Italian Racing Red, Ultimate Black, Ultra Blue and an all-new Glacier White.

Ariel Ace Motorcycle Revealed: Ariel’s First Two-Wheeled Product In 50 Years

Ariel is known for its ultra naked, hardcore and track oriented four wheeled machines but today, with a new product in hand, Ariel has stepped into a different territory. The iconic sports car manufacturer has revealed its first all new two wheeled product in more than five decades.

Christened Ariel Ace, the motorcycle, just like the Ariel Atom, is naked and looks stunning. The Somerset firm will start the production of the Ace in 2015 with plans of making 100 to 150 units a year. The company will produce the Atom sports car alongside the newly introduced Ace at its Crewkerne facility.

As per Ariel, Honda has assisted them in developing this beautiful machine and this is quite evident from the fact that the Atom is powered by Honda’s VTEC engine. As far as the configuration of Ace is concerned, the engine and the drive train will be sourced from Honda while the build system is entirely new and developed exclusively by Ariel. Powering the Ace will be a 1237 cc V4 engine producing 173 bhp at peak.

With 173 horses on tap, the Ace can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 265 km/hr or 165 mph.

Just like the way Ariel offers the Atom, it will be offering the Ace as well. There will be an array of customisation options available on the Ace, making it one of the most unique motorcycles to arrive in the market. The customisation options will include different bodyworks, different exhausts, front and rear suspension variants, single or dual (pillion) seats and a variety of colours, materials and finishes.

The all new two-wheeled machine from Ariel will make its debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival Of Speed and is expected to be priced at £20,000 and upwards.
