Honda Gold Wing F6C Naked Roadster To Arrive Soon?

For a couple of weeks we have been hearing rumours about a new Honda model which is yet to be confirmed, and lately the rumours have only become stronger. News is that Honda is all set to debut a naked roadster-styled cruiser model dubbed Honda Gold Wing F6C.

Yes it will be a Gold Wing family member meaning it will look mean and will have lots of power at the twist of the throttle. The design of the production F6C power cruiser is said to lie between the latest generation Honda CTX1300 and Honda Gold Wing F6B, so essentially it will sit low and weigh less than its family members.

With the Gold Wing family blood running through its hoses, the Gold Wing F6C is expected to be powered by the same engine as found on the Gold Wing itself. The 1832 cc liquid cooled, horizontally opposed, six-cylinder engine good for 108 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 158 nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. While it could be hard to believe since it is a Gold Wing, the F6C will be 154 lbs lighter than the Honda Gold Wing GL1800, meaning the curb weight would be around 750 pounds. This would also mean the F6C will be 100 pounds lighter than its fully faired sibling, the F6B.

The chassis of the F6C will be made out of an aluminium mult-box twin-spar frame, with the 1832 cc engine working as a fully stressed member of the frame. The sub-frame has also been developed keeping in mind low passenger seat height – rendering the motorcycle with improved handling at high speeds and exceptional stability at low speeds.

The rake and trail figures for the Gold Wing F6C’s front end will be 30.5” and 121.5 mm respectively. It will sport a single sided swingarm and will feature a dual-channel ABS system. Assisting the ABS system will be twin 310 mm discs out front and a single 316 mm disc at the rear.

Back in 2007, Honda showcased the EVO 6 Concept and what we really hope is if the upcoming F6C could take some styling cues from this beautifully designed machine. Will it look like the EVO 6? Well, we will come to know that very soon.
